This is a very typical fault of Bosch Serie 4 washing machines marked WAN<\/strong> (e.g. WAN24\u2026, WAN28\u2026) and the twin Siemens machines built on the same platform. Washing runs normally, but when the spin should start, the remaining time suddenly jumps from 14 to 4 minutes<\/strong>, the drum does not speed up and the machine ends the programme with wet laundry. Usually there is no message on the display, but the machine stores error code E60-21<\/strong> (also written as E6021<\/strong>) in its fault memory.<\/p>\n

Typical symptoms<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • washing and rinsing work, the problem only appears at the spin stage,<\/li>\n
  • the remaining time jumps from 0:14 to 0:04<\/strong> (or similar \u2013 down by several minutes),<\/li>\n
  • the drum tries to speed up and gives up, or does not accelerate at all,<\/li>\n
  • the laundry is very wet although the water has been pumped out,<\/li>\n
  • no message on the display, but E60-21 \/ E6021<\/strong> in the fault memory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What to rule out yourself<\/h2>\n

    Before suspecting the electronics, check the things that cause a similar effect:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Unbalanced load.<\/strong> The machine will not spin when the laundry forms one lump (e.g. a single towel, a rug, a jacket). Try spinning several items of different sizes.<\/li>\n
    • Programme and options.<\/strong> Make sure “no spin” or a very low speed is not selected and that the programme includes a spin at all.<\/li>\n
    • Pump filter.<\/strong> If water stays in the drum, the machine will not start spinning. Clean the filter behind the flap in the lower corner.<\/li>\n
    • Levelling.<\/strong> The machine should stand level and firm \u2013 heavy vibration while speeding up also stops the spin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      If all of this is fine and the time jumps from 14 to 4 minutes every time<\/strong>, the cause is in the electronics.<\/p>\n

      Cause: faulty module<\/h2>\n

      In WAN machines the motor is controlled by an electronic module. When the part of the module that drives the motor starts to fail, the machine tries to speed up the drum, but the inverter protection trips<\/strong>. Instead of stopping the programme with a message on the display, the controller stores error E60-21 and simply skips the spin (hence the sudden 10-minute jump).<\/p>\n

      Replacing the motor or the belt will not help here \u2013 the module has to be repaired.<\/p>\n

      Which modules are affected<\/h2>\n

      The fault with error E60-21 and the time jump from 14 to 4 minutes affects the control (power) modules with the numbers:<\/p>\n

        A new module is expensive and has to be programmed for your specific machine. We repair your own module<\/strong> \u2013 the repair costs 500 PLN<\/strong> (approx. \u20ac115).<\/p>\n

        • Remove the module (after disconnecting power and water) and send it to us. We accept parcels from the whole EU.<\/li>\n
